Community Meeting in Memphis and Congressional Hearing on Workplace Discrimination Against Transgend |

Tonight, June 23, there will be a special community meeting in Memphis to discuss response to the police brutality case against Duanna Johnson, an African American transgender woman. The meeting will he held at First Congregational Church, 1000 South Cooper Street, Memphis, 38104, at 6:00 pm. We encourage all who live in Shelby County to attend this important community meeting.
Later this week, the U.S. House Education and Labor Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions has scheduled a hearing on discrimination against transgender employees in the workplace. The hearing will be an historic first. It will be the first congressional hearing ever to focus on discrimination against transgender persons. |
